SIDNEY HIGH SCHOOL TRACK
Sidney Public Schools
SDI Architects
September 2019
The Sidney High School Track and Field Facility project involved the complete removal and replacement of the existing track and jumping areas. The previous track was plagued by frost heaving issues, often rendering it unusable during the critical spring season when it was most needed. The newly constructed facility features a state-of-the-art post-tensioned concrete base topped with a polyurethane track surface. The design includes a full 8-lane, 400-meter track, with 10 lanes on the 100-meter straightaway for sprint events. Enhancements also include four sand pits with new runways for horizontal jumps and a pole vault runway designed to accommodate two pits. This facility was recognized as a finalist for the 2021 New Track and Field Facility of the Year—an honor that reflects the quality and care put into every detail.
This project holds a special place in our hearts at Corland Construction, LLC. Many of our team members have direct family connections to Sidney High School’s track and field athletes and coaching staff. We are proud to have collaborated closely with Sidney High School, SDI Architects + Design, Fisher Tracks, and a dedicated team of local and out-of-state subcontractors and suppliers to bring this exceptional facility to life—serving both the school district and the greater Richland County community
