NDSU SEED CLEANING FACILITY

Williston,ND
NDSU Research Center
Hulsing & Associates
September 2020

This project involved the construction of a state-of-the-art seed cleaning facility for the Williston Research Extension Center. The new 6,000 square foot building significantly increased operational capacity, allowing the facility to clean up to 200 bushels of seed per hour—a dramatic improvement from its previous limit of just 35 bushels per hour (Kyle Dragseth). As a result, the facility is now equipped to routinely clean over 40,000 bushels of seed annually.

In addition to the main processing area, the project included a 1,500 square foot interior buildout featuring office space, a laboratory, a breakroom, and restrooms. The scope of work also encompassed excavation, site development, and civil improvements, ensuring the facility is well-supported by modern infrastructure and optimized for both efficiency and functionality.

This expansion has positioned the Williston Research Extension Center to better serve its agricultural partners and the broader region with improved seed quality and processing throughput.
